On 2/16/13, VADA sent a proposal to the UFC addressed to Lorenzo, Dana and Frank that VADA would help them set up a state-of-the art PED program with unannounced random testing for blood and urine. We indicated that there would be no adminsitrative charges at least for the first year. This would include education courses. We would use a WADA-accredited lab, certified doping collection officers and the results would go to the fighter, the UFC, the ABC/the official MMA record-keeper for the ABC, and the commission where the fighter held a license. I believe the UFC would save money, improve public confidence that fighters are competing clean, injuries would be less with fighters competing less on PEDs, and overall safety would improve. We also mentioned that although VADA no longer has THC in our testing panel, we would include it at their request. The testing would include EPO, hGH, CIR. To date, we have had no response, but we remain happy to discuss.Comentario

Marc Ratner Wants Marijuana Stance Changed In Nevada
As marijuana use continues to grow, so does the number of fighters to test positive for the somewhat illegal substance. The issue has become such a regular occurrence that UFC's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Marc Ratner has reached out to the NSAC about lightening their stance.
"Society is changing," said Ratner. "It's a different world now than when I was on the commission. States are legalizing marijuana and it's becoming more and more of a problem with fighters testing positive [for marijuana] and the metabolites."
It's become a tricky situation as marijuana is illegal on the federal level, but Washington and Colorado have it legal under state law. Add in all the states that consider it medically okay and that number closes in on 20.
Matt Riddle and Alex Caceres were recently popped for having the metabolites in their system. Both of their wins were overturned to no contest and Riddle was released. Caceres is suspended for six months and must undergo drug rehabilitation classes.
Former welterweight No. 1 contender Nick Diaz just returned from a yearlong suspension after testing positive.
The NSAC Panel meets again next month, but addressing a change about marijuana is currently not on the agenda.

Según se comenta es un lesión en el talón de aqulies, producida semanas antes de la pelea contra Nick, al parecer en el mismo pie donde ya fue operado de los ligamentos.
“Estaba preocupado de que se rompiera durante la pelea”, dijo su entrenador Zahabi para MMAFighting “Tuvimos que reducir su entrenamiento previo a último combate debido a su lesión. Tenía una semana para descansar y luego la pelea”.
su entrenador quiere que St-Pierre se tome un tiempo libre, teniendo en cuenta la lesión y que la pelea ante Díaz fue su segunda en cuatro meses. De hecho, Zahabi no quiere que regrese a la acción por lo menos en seis meses, si no más.
Zahabi:

Belfort deja Blackzilians para formar su propio camp en Brasil. todavía no sabemos quienes seran los entrenadores, pero apuesto por Jesús(para los milagros), San Pedro(los entrenos duros bajo el sol) y Judas(para los gameplans).

Me extrañaría que Pedro Díaz haya entrenado a Belfort el camp entero, ya que estará demasiado ocupado con Rigondeaux para su pelea con Donaire.Comentario
