ESPN saca su video magazine "Outside the Lines" en el que ataca a UFC, el presunto monopolio y se llega a decir que hace uso de su posición para tener a los luchadores como rehenes, apoyándose en los beneficios de la compañía en comparación con las bolsas que cobran los luchadores.



Zuffa devuelve el golpe con un clip de Lorenzo Fertitta explicando en una entrevista que ESPN es una de las televisiones por cable con más beneficios en USA y que aún así pagan ridiculeces como $275 en su Friday Night Fights por peleas de cuatro asaltos.



Que sí, que en ESPN se han hecho ese tipo de investigaciones sobre cualquier deporte popular (NFL, NBA, boxeo...), pero es un poco cuestión del momento en que llegaba el reportaje. Desde que firmaron con Fox, White se ha cortado menos a la hora de hablar de ESPN y de lo que él considera un trato "despectivo" (yo no lo acabo de ver así, pero no vivo en USA) hacia UFC.

En este caso, los dos dicen verdades a medias. Los primeros porque se basan en "se dice" y "se comenta" en muchas partes de su reportaje (por lo que he leído, ver solo he visto el video que te puse arriba), y Ferti porque no cuenta que el presupuesto para el programa FNF de ESPN es ajustado, y que los boxeadores reciben normalmente dinero también de los promotores.

Resumiendo, que andan a tortas porque UFC ha firmao con FOX, y ahora es una cuestión de audiencias, y por tanto, de dinero.

Esta mañana he mirado este tema y me aburre bastante. ESPN dice que sus fuentes principales son los propios luchadores que por miedo a represalias no van a salir mientras que Ferti dice que salgan, que no pasa nada, que no van a tomar represalias jeje

Presunto monopolio, luchadores como rehenes y bolsas ridículas comparadas con el boxeo, qué chorradas dicen estos de ESPN jejeje!


Por otro lado, claro que me esperaba que se defendiesen, lo que me ha sorprendido es lo de Lorenzo vestido de traje en una entrevista, me parece mucho más correcto un vídeo en youtube vestido de chándal con varias obscenidades, eso sí que me lo esperaba jaja

Looks like Forbes.com one of the biggest and most well-respected business journals/news media companies in the world is chiming in with their take on the UFC fighter unionization issue and the ESPN vs Zuffa battle.

For business media and analysis it doesn't get much bigger than Forbes. It would seem in light of other professional sports, they are aligning themselves more on the side of the the many unhappy UFC fighters on this one.

Remember, to be fair and show balance... Forbes has givin a lot of very positive coverage to the success of the UFC and have done highlighted pieces on the new billionaire Fertitta brothers. El otro dia viendo el Miller vs Guillard cuando Miller se quedó tocado yo pensando ¡venga, a que se repone a lo Edgar y le da la vuelta! y efectivamente; ese chico vale mucho. Si gana Nate ya se pone ahí con los tops optando a todo. He visto que fightmatrix pone a Nate ya el 4º en el ranking LW UFC; me parece un despropósito (es por el sistema de puntos que usan y tal supongo...). Creo que ahora mismo es mas real el de Sherdog que pone a Nate después de Miller, Guida y Pettis. A ver qué pasa en el UFC on FOX3...
