THE PICK: Unless Silva’s problems with his pituitary gland have completely ruined him, he holds practically all the skill advantages here. While not exactly iron-jawed, Silva is more durable than Mir, will be difficult to take down and is probably a more skilled striker and clinch fighter. If the fight does go to the ground, it will probably be with Silva in top position, and he is fully capable of shutting down Mir’s bottom game and putting out his lights. The most likely scenario is Silva stunning Mir with shots on the feet or in the clinch, following him to the ground and finishing with punches. The pick is Silva by knockout in the second round.

THE PICK: This is a coin-flip fight, and it could easily go either way. I slightly favor Johnson, however, due to his prowess as a counterpuncher and Barboza’s tendency toward defensive lapses after he throws his shots. I expect the Brazilian to put in good work early, with Johnson getting the worse end of the initial exchanges before landing a hard straight left to put down Barboza at some point. The pick is Johnson by knockout in the second round.

THE PICK: If Alvey cannot drag Ferreira into an exciting fight, then nobody can. Alvey will look to throw volume and engage, while Ferreira will presumably back away and circle at long kicking range, outside of the American’s wheelhouse. If Alvey had better footwork or a more defined pressure game, he would be the easy pick here, but his tendency to wait on his opponent to engage will play against him. The pick is Ferreira by slow-paced decision -- again.

THE PICK: This matchup favors Khabilov, especially if he has made a few improvements since his loss to Henderson. Martins is probably not going to beat Khabilov on volume; the Dagestani should be the better clinch fighter and wrestler; and unless Martins can somehow make his way to top position, which is unlikely, Khabilov holds the edge on the ground. The pick is Khabilov by dominant decision, with a strong possibility of a finish.

THE PICK: While Alcantara is the rightful favorite, Saenz is an effective and durable action fighter, which should make this a fairly entertaining matchup. Skilled takedown artists have given Alcantara fits before, but I do not think Saenz’s top control is good enough to hold down the crafty Brazilian. If the fight turns into a scramble-fest, then Alcantara will have a good chance of making his way to Saenz’s back, a “Marajo” specialty. Moreover, the range striking matchup favors Alcantara, though not by as much as it might appear on paper. In sum, there are too many factors pointing in the Brazilian’s direction. The pick is Alcantara by rear-naked choke submission in the second round.

THE PICK: Unless the cut to 170 pounds hurts Strickland’s conditioning and ability to take a shot, this matchup favors him. His counter game is tailor-made for an opponent like Ponzinibbio, who, while powerful, generally only throws one or two shots at a time and lacks the smooth footwork necessary to pin him up against the cage and bomb away. Moreover, Strickland’s top game is designed to hold up against the kind of scramble-heavy, active approach Ponzinibbio prefers. The pick is Strickland by wide decision.

A mi el Johnson vs Barbosa me parece un combatazo... y al ver al hombre elefante estampar esas manotas en caras ajenas siempre gusta.

pues este main es super interesante y puede pasar de todo, creo que pezao perderá por el tema de los roids y como se ha puesto el tema en UFC. Como de otra vez positivo lo largan. Seria mejor una derrota que una victoria con roids. Ambos sin roids o con una dosis baja a ver como desempeñan en el ring.

Creo que a favor de mir, pero no se yo, porque pezao es muy peligroso y una mano suya es un ko para Mir.

El resto del main no conozco a nadie...

Gotrek Pezao viene de un Ko ante Arlovski y Mir sabe que a estas alturas ya no lo tiran hasta que se retire.

Lo lógico es que se la lleve Pezao sí o sí.
